Hey everyone, Dr. Drake here! Today I want to talk about something that’s at the heart of how we help families heal and thrive in our office—care planning.

If you’ve ever wondered, “Why do I or my child need a certain number of visits?” or “Why can’t we just get adjusted a few times when symptoms show up?”—this video is for you.

1. What Is Care Planning?

Care planning is essentially the blueprint for your healing journey.

In the same way you wouldn’t start building a house without a plan, we don’t approach chiropractic care without a strategy. Every single care plan we create is personalized based on what we find in our neurological assessments and INSiGHT scans.

It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach, and it’s not based on guesswork. It’s based on what your nervous system is telling us.

2. Why a Care Plan Matters More Than “Drop In” Adjustments

Let’s be honest—we live in a world that often looks for quick fixes. But when it comes to nervous system health, especially with chronic stress or developmental challenges, that’s not how true healing works.

If someone’s nervous system has been stuck in stress mode for weeks, months, or even years, we can’t expect it to fully reset with just one or two adjustments. That would be like going to the gym once and expecting to be in shape for life.

Consistency is what allows the nervous system to unwind, rebuild, and create new patterns.

That’s exactly what care planning gives us—a consistent rhythm and a roadmap that the body can follow to truly adapt and heal.

3. How We Create a Care Plan Using INSiGHT Scans

On Day One, we use our INSiGHT Scan technology to take a deep look at how your or your child’s nervous system is functioning.

We’re not just looking at symptoms—we’re asking, “What’s the root cause? How is the nervous system actually adapting to stress?”

We use:

NeuroThermal Scans to see how the organs and glands are being affected

Surface EMG Scans to measure muscle tension and tone

And Heart Rate Variability (HRV) to evaluate adaptability—the ability to shift between stress and regulation

From there, we build a plan based on what your body needs to go from dysfunction to function—not based on a preset number, but on real data.

4. What Happens After the Initial Plan?

Once we get through the initial phase of care and we start to see the nervous system settle—sleep improves, energy is better, behaviors calm down—we re-scan.

Those follow-up INSiGHT scans help us evaluate progress, and they tell us when it’s time to transition into a new phase of care.

Eventually, we shift into what we call N8Wellness Care—less frequent adjustments that maintain and build on all the progress you’ve made.

Because just like you brush your teeth to maintain dental health, the nervous system needs ongoing support to stay clear and adaptable.

5. The Big Picture

Our goal isn’t just to help your child “feel better.” We want to help them function better—sleep better, digest better, regulate their emotions better, and handle stress more effectively.

That only happens when we truly address the root cause, not just chase symptoms. And that’s exactly what care planning allows us to do.

So if you’re new to chiropractic or you’re just beginning care with us—read that care plan. Ask questions. Dive into your scan results. The more you understand your nervous system, the more empowered you’ll feel to support it.

And if you haven’t yet, we’ve got a quick blog that dives even deeper into this topic—why care plans matter and how we use INSiGHT scans to guide every decision. I’ll link it below!

As always, we’re here to walk with you every step of the way. Healing is a journey—and we’re honored to be part of yours.
